People of southwest Michigan, welcome to Motsy Reckons, hence forth this blog shall serve to direct our efforts both in active protest as well as programs that can help us break free from a system that thrives on our dependence.
But before we can move forward against the many forces that oppose us, we should, I reckon, first post a basic cell structure first for the area of Southwest Michigan, then of individual cities. The cell will serve as a central base for operations. If phase 1 involves waging an information war, then our focus should be to reach the masses just as much as the individual. We must reach our personal friends as well as complete strangers, the corrupt system affects us all, we must as a whole understand that our individual sufferings, although great, are minute compared to the suffering that we feel as a nation and a society. All are affected. The key then, when confronting the individual, is to find how this degenerate system affects them and talk to them about it. When confronting the masses, art has the potential to impact a community on an immense scale. Internet and new media has proven to be an invaluable tool in getting information out quickly and effectively, enabling a fast flow of information that can add fuel to the fire and bring inspiration to the disheartened. Reinforcement of the message is a must, in an age of endless ads and constant advertising; we have become accustom to blocking out the many signs, posters, and commercials. We must make them see, the message must be everywhere, in every bar, school, coffee shop, book store, restaurant, and car bumper. We must paint the walls of every city!
Structurally speaking, no one person is the leader of this movement, we are all Anonymous, but I feel there should be heads of programs, or at least divisions, per say, of people who have taken it upon themselves the responsibility of one of the many ways of spreading the message, first within our area and then within our cities, as the movement grows. The following then are general areas in which we can classify ourselves and organize the effort, the idea being that we all operate individually or in small groups (2 or 3), yet converge on designated days in a coordinated campaign against the system.
I will therefore address these different areas of the Outreach and their individual responsibilities.
New Media ops: Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube.
Old Media ops: The passing out of pamphlets, fliers, informational DVD’s, and the like.
Art ops: Street art, photography, music.
Public Affairs: Public speaking, organization of demonstrations, seeking local media acknowledgment of the movement.
By dividing these up I am not insinuating that a person should/must dedicate themselves to one or the other, I am simply saying it to better focus our individual talents and efforts, and organize to form a thorough and well defined base of thought which we can proceed from.
As of right now we are lacking in Old Media ops, art ops, and public affairs. I have personally tried to progress the Old Media operation which officially started today in Kalamazoo. I have already formed this blog as well as a Twitter Feed and am working on a Facebook group for those who are interested, a start to new media. But I can only do so much. Ask yourself, what can you do?
Whatever you do my friends, do not stay idle, now is the time. We have it within our power to begin the world over again! Apathy is your greatest enemy, more than the governments, more than the Corporations; your own indolence will kill any chance at our revolution taking hold. This could be the greatest thing that ever happened to the world, to you. This is the 21st century enlightenment, a Global movement for a better world, a decent world. Fate calls you to something greater than yourself.
